Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
I am currently in-network with Carefirst/Blue Cross Blue Shield. I am considered an out-of-network for many other insurance companies. Several insurance companies may reimburse you for a significant portion of our sessions. Please follow up with your insurance carrier for more specific information about deductibles, co-pays, and the reimbursement process.
How much do sessions cost?
Sessions cost between $225-$250.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Yes, telehealth appointments are offered. You must be in a state that Dr. Smack is licensed in at the time of the appointment. Dr. Smack is currently licensed in MD, DC, and VA.
What should I expect during appointments?
The intake appointment will consist of Dr. Smack getting an understanding of your presenting concerns, background information, and treatment goals. Subsequent appointments will be goal-directed. Dr. Smack will check in periodically to assess progress toward goals and to ensure that the client's needs are being met. Appointments range between 45-60 minutes.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Appointments should be canceled at least 24 hours in advance. With the exception of severe illness or an emergency, failure to cancel the appointment will result in a full charge for the missed appointment. Please note that insurance companies typically do not reimburse for late cancellations/no-shows.
